Well Michelle and I walked as I pushed Aleky in the umbrella stroller. David, Donovan and Michael were not about to go that slow! So they took off running. Now surprise, David was the fastest of the three followed by Donovan and then Michael. In spite of the relative difference in speed they made periodic stops so they could regroup. However, they didn't bother to wait for their slow-poke parents (except to cross the street). They made a detour to play on the playground equipment, stopped for a drink at the drinking fountain, ran around the flag pole once and climbed on the big guns just for fun.
Michelle was ticked to see the boys getting along so well, having fun running and playing in the park. She was born to be a mom. Obviously there are times when the task seems too difficult and daunting but there are far more moments when we couldn't imagine life without our wonderful boys.
We took a walk back around the park (the opposite direction) just to enjoy the beautiful evening. The boys ran all the way around the park, stopped momentarily at the playground (until we caught up) and then sprinted home, crossing the street on their own. We discovered them waiting for us at our backyard gate. Donovan require the "password" (acutally a short phrase which included the words, "let us in PLEASE").
It looks like our boys just discovered that the backyard mud sticks to the house nicely. I'd like to see that game stop.
